Please join us for the annual Emerging Historians Session at the RHSV Drill Hall on Tuesday 21st July 2015.
Our very own Minna Muhlen-Schulte will present Vergangenheitsbewältigung: Struggle to come to terms with the past.
Minna’s talk will explore the complex relationship German–Australians have with their wartime past. She will discuss her experience of working with oral history recordings, memoirs and letters held in the State Library of Victoria’s Australian Manuscripts collection, and how the silence in these records is just as powerful as the recorded testimony.
She will be joined by the Royal Historical Society representative David Harris who will present Imagined Natures, The Gippsland Lakes 1860s-1900: researching nineteenth century colonial relationships with the Gippsland Lakes.
Please join us for drinks from 5:15pm with the lecture beginning promptly at 5:45pm.

Non-members $10.00
The event will take place in RHSV Drill Hall, 239 A'Beckett Street, Melbourne.
