Membership Fee Reductions
/The Committee of Management of the PHA (Vic & Tas) has made the decision to defer membership renewal until September 30th this year to assist members through this difficult time.
At its June meeting, the Committee made the decision to additionally reduce membership fees by 25% for this coming membership year. This means that when memberships are due on 30 September 30 2020, they will cost the following:
Professional membership will be $97.50
Associate membership will be $82.50
Graduate membership will be $63.75
Retired membership will be $56.25
We believe that this reduction will be of help to those members with financial challenges and provide for the continued financial viability of the PHA (Vic & Tas).
Whilst the reduction in fees will be of benefit and assistance to many of our members, we understand that the effects of the Covid-19 pandemic have been patchy on our membership.
Some of our members have had no direct financial cost and some have already voiced the desire to assist both the PHA (Vic & Tas) and its members.
For members who can and want to pay the full fee, or to assist other historians who have been adversely affected by the pandemic, we have developed a Pay it Forward programme, outlined below.
Pay it Forward
The aim of the Pay it Forward programme is to assist members adversely affected by the Covid-19 pandemic retain their membership by using funds from the Pay it Forward programme to pay a portion of their membership fees.
The programme is funded through donations by members and is available to the public to donate to. If you are one of the members who has indicated you would like to pay your usual annual membership fee, we are asking you instead to pay the reduced fees, as per the invoices that will come out in September, and then donate the difference (or any amount you choose) between the reduced fee and the usual membership fee (the usual annual fees are: Professional $130, Associate $110, Graduate $85 and Retired $75).

You can donate now or at membership renewal time, or any other time you wish to. You will see us advertising this programme to the public very shortly. We can only accept payment through credit cards or PayPal. Unfortunately, we are unable to accept direct bank transfers for this programme.
The money raised through the donations to the Pay it Forward programme will then go towards assisting those members adversely affected retain their membership and continue access to the employment and support services the PHA (Vic & Tas) provides.
